Wild-coloured cars in junkyards: 2,129 on the lots
The rarest colours in U-pull junkyards, as the yards themselves list them: pink, lime green, teal, yellow, purple and orange. Only about half the yards list a colour at all, and a yard's 'purple' can be plum. Counted on the self-serve lots we read in the US and Canada, as of .
Our reel “Junkyard census #12: wild colours” counted 2,319 on (21 pink, 216 teal, 563 yellow, 731 purple, 785 orange, 3 lime green). This page is recounted every night: cars get pulled and crushed and new ones land, so the two numbers drift.
